A day afloat – Hawaiian style

A few weeks ago, we held the annual BURN Boat Trip in conjunction with our good friends at One Water. Grass skirts, leis, the odd inflatable animal and Hawaiian shirts were the order of the day – and cocktails too of course.

What a great day it was.

We set off from BURN after the obligatory bacon sandwiches. After a quick stroll down to the river, we boarded our boat, the Clifton Castle, and were immediately greeted with a glass of fizz.

Our boat set off around midday in bright sunshine for an afternoon of drinking, eating and socialising – all whilst watching the world pass us by as we effortlessly cruised down the Thames.

Black Cat Team

It was great to see many of the old Black Cat faces back together.

Food was prepared and served by Guy’s old friend and ex-Masterchef  contestant Sam. The food was great – lots of variety, hot and cold – all prepared in advance or on a small camping stove on the stern of the boat. Quite a feat.

Beer-pong time. Sadly (or happily depending on your view) most people were unable to land the ball in the cups!

Beer Pong!

We returned to Richmond and disembarked. At this point a few people went home but most hit the roof terrace at Revolution and kept the party going as the sun went down.

As always a good time was had by all. We’re already looking forward to next year.

PS: Thanks to Gabi, our very own David Bailey, for the photos!
