Slowly does it…

I saw this great YouTube clip the other day from a Danish TV programme called Dumt & Farligt (Stupid & Dangerous). The show format seems a simple one – the presenters destroy household objects in a variety of ways for the amusement of the audience. (It reminds me of a primetime version of Blendtec’s famous “Will it Blend” campaign).

Anyway the clip that’s doing the rounds shows these ‘moments of destruction’ in super slow motion. And they’re a genuine thing of beauty. Who’d have thought that seeing a fish bowl hit by a demolition ball could be quite so stunning? Or that a can of Stroganoff heated on an electric hob could paint such amazing images when it explodes?

In the modern connected world, the pressure is on us all to act and think quickly. This clip goes to show you that you need to slow things down sometimes to see the beauty in them…
